No set payment date for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD)

There is no set payment date for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant valued at R350. Beneficiaries must wait until they are notified that their grant payment funds are prepared before visiting pay points such as businesses or ATMs to collect their grant payment.

In addition to this, the agency continues to remind social grant recipients that they are not required to withdraw their payout as soon as their funds are made accessible. Grant recipients are assured that their funds will stay in their accounts until they choose to withdraw them.

Beneficiaries are also advised to wait a few days before collecting their grant payments to avoid waiting in large queues at pay points. Although recipients may require the money as soon as it is available, it is understandable if they do not have the luxury of waiting a few days for their payments.

To avoid waiting in huge lines at pay points to receive their grants, beneficiaries are advised to postpone the collection of their grant payments for a few days. However, it is acceptable if recipients do not have the luxury of waiting a few days for their payments as it is obvious that they may need the money as soon as it becomes available.

Sassa grants can be withdrawn using the Sassa gold cards at bank ATMs. Recipients of grants are reminded to use alternative pay points rather than the post office.
