Deadline Sassa For Monthly R350 Grant Appeals
Beneficiaries of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant will soon receive their grant amounts for the upcoming month of July. Not all applicants for the grant, though, have had their requests for payment accepted.
The R350 grant’s administrative processors have undergone a number of changes, according to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa). The appeals procedure and the grant’s eligibility requirements are two of these modifications.
Applicants for SRD grants whose applications have been denied by Sassa must now adhere to a new appeals procedure. This is due to Sassa no longer handling SRD appeal requests. Clients who are denied SRD reconsideration must now do so through the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA).
It is important to note that SRD grant applicants have a limited time to appeal a rejection from Sassa.
Clients will have a 90-day deadline to lodge an appeal with the ITSAA.
How To Submit A SRD Grant Appeal
Step 1: Visit The New SRD Appeals Website By Clicking HERE
Step 2: Enter Your Identification Number
Step 3: Enter The Cell Phone Number You Used During The Application Process
Step 4: Click Send “Pin”
Step 5: Once you receive the pin, you will be required to insert it and click “Submit”
Step 6: Select the month that you are appealing for
Step 7: Secret the drop-down arrow to choose the reason for your appeal application from the options provided
Step 8: Click “Submit” to complete the appeal application process
The decision of the Independent Tribunal is the final and no further internal recourse will be available. However, the applicant may approach the High Court for judicial review within 180 days should they be satisfied with the decision.
